Dit liedje vereist wel een soort van verklaring.
'I'm going to the North' is een soort pedagogisch spelletje om kinderen netjes om dingen te vragen. Je moet namelijk zeggen wat je mee wil nemen, en alleen als de leider zegt dat het mag kun je je spullen meenemen. Dan moet je raden wanneer je iets mee mag nemen en dat is als je er beleefd om vraagt.
Daar moest ik opeens aan denken toen ik in Frankrijk in de trein van Menton (strand) terug naar Briançon (bergen) zat en nou ja...toen kwam dit eruit. Thuis heb ik meteen mijn gitaar gepakt en ben liedjes gaan maken.
Dat had ik toch al zo gemist in de vakantie.
Nou ja, bla bla.
